Vielen Dank!
Folks,
It’s another All-Alpha/IT Access Weekend for our game. We have made a number of changes and improvements to the last build, and it will be up all weekend for you folks to help us test it. For the first time, we have enabled full building/deconstruction on an Alpha build. We have also added four new building pads for your efforts. If this weekend’s test goes well, we’ll bring the Beta 1 folks in for the next test. We want to stress out the system this weekend, so we don’t expect everything to go smoothly.
Some things to keep in mind for this test –
1) Expect a lower FPS – With the additional building plots and all the building/deconstruction (we have turned off building destruction via damage) plus the fact we had/have 1M+ blocks out there and no culling, things will definitely run slower. If you are running an older, DX10 card, expect performance to be worse. It’s better than what it was. but with the added stress, just expect worse performance for now.
2) No destruction of buildings – As per above.
3) Feel is a bit laggier – It’s still pretty good but it feels a little worse even on decent cards. Again, this is expected.
4) You might see some crashes on logging in/out of the game – We can’t repro this every time but the crashes are internment and client based, not server based. But hey, this is an Alpha right, we have to crash sometime!
FYI, if/when you report a bug that has to do with FPS/lag/crashes/etc., please, please, please attach a DXDiag to your post. We always need the DXDiag for these types of problems and we will just end up asking for it anyway. Thanks!
Enjoy your weekend all and if you haven’t read our latest update (Stealth Unchained, which can be found here -
http://camelotunchained.com/v2/stealth-unchained-our-next-stretch-goal-and-so-much-more-pictures/) you really should read it. Lots and lots of good stuff in there, not just stealth.
It’s been a great week here at CSE. Everything has gone really well and Andrew’s new terrain editor/system is a real game-changer for us. We are very happy.
